Legislation

All you need to know ... to become the owner of a mobile residence

Mobile Homes are subject to special legislation and may only be installed on a camp site or a " Parc Résidentiel de Loisirs" (PRL*) and this for temporary or seasonal occupation.

If your Home is under 40 m² and still has its own means of mobility, installation will not require a special authorisation or building permit.

As owner, you are therefore not required to pay council tax ( taxe d'habitation) even though you may be connected to mains water, electricity etc. and you will only be required to pay the tourist holiday tax.

The transport of your Mobile Home must legally be carried out as a « convoi exceptionnel » (exceptional load) the cost of which will vary according to distance covered (from either one of our factories in Loudéac, Brittany or Millau in the Midi-Pyrénées).

You will also need to add on the installation costs of levelling and mains connections, the cost will vary according to the accessibility of the plot.

It is best to choose the all-inclusive sales package: delivery and installation included.

For further information, contact the nearest Louisiane agent to your future installation site.
He will be able to suggest different plots on local camp sites in his region and provide an all inclusive sales package.

* PRL: Parc Résidentiel de Loisirs: provide plots which can be rented all year round, the average plot size is 200 m² compared to the 100 m² to 150 m² plots in a normal camp site.
